The Police Uptter’s Guide has been prepared with the assistance of service and engineering specialists to assist vehicle uptters in achieving the highest standards of safety and quality in their products. This guide is divided into topics pertinent to uptters of police vehicles. References are made to the 2006 Dodge Charger and Magnum Service Manual for appropriate service procedures, torques specications, component separation clearances, and other standard information that is common with the unmodied vehicle.

The Police Uptter’s Guide does not provide information on how to remove, install, or repair vehicle parts or equipment. This guide must be used as a reference to help ensure that certain important steps in the modication process have been considered. DaimlerChrysler Corporation provides this information only to assist the uptters, and does not warrant the products, procedures, materials, or the workmanship of the uptters. DaimlerChrysler Corporation does not provide warranty coverage against failures that result from modication of the vehicle.

Following the guidelines contained in this guide does not assure the individual uptters that the products they modify comply with the U.S. Federal or Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standards in effect at the time of the modication. The guidelines set forth are based on engineering analyses of the typical police vehicles. If followed, the uptter’s efforts in certifying vehicles to applicable standards should be aided. Compliance testing that may be required for certication of specic vehicle congurations or constructions is, however, the sole responsibility of the individual modier.
