This guide will walk you through the installation process for the Application Monitor Management Pack for Orion. If you are reinstalling or upgrading from another version see Upgrades and Migrations section in the Orion Administrator’s Guide for specific instructions.

Step 1: Installing the Application Monitor Management Pack
1. Install the Application Monitor Management Pack ensuring that SQL and Orion Network Performance Monitor version 7.8.2 or later have already been installed.
2. Run the Orion Configuration Wizard from start to finish and be sure that Application Monitor is checked when installing the Orion services.

Step 2: Selecting Applications to Monitor
1. Start the Orion System Manager by going to Start SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor System Manager. To add an application, right click on a node and select Application Monitoring .
2. Select the application(s) you wish to monitor and click Finished to add these applications to the database and begin monitoring statistics.
3. To access the Application Monitor charts, drill into the device on the Node Tree and then drill into Applications to display a list of charts.

UNIX Devices:
To enable application support for all server types, open the Application Monitor user interface by going to Nodes Application Monitoring. Click the Settings button and select the Device Support tab. Select All Servers to display every server in your Orion database. Click OK to accept the changes.
