Netcool/OMNIbus Probe for Motorola 3GPP OMCR Reference Guide
The Probe for Motorola 3GPP OMCR gathers events from the Motorola 3GPP OMCR GSR9 servers using a Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA) interface. CORBA is an Object Management Group specification that provides a standard interface definition between objects in a distributed environment; that is, it allows applications to communicate with one another regardless of where they are located or who has designed them.
Connecting to the CORBA interface
This section describes how the probe connects to the CORBA interface. The connection method depends on whether you are connecting to Probe for Motorola 3GPP OMCR GSR-7 or GSR-8 or GSR-9.
Probe for Motorola 3GPP OMCR GSR-7
The Probe for Motorola OMC-R 3GPP GSR-7 connects to the CORBA interface using Interoperable Object Reference (IOR) files.
Using IOR Files
The probe uses IOR files for this connection, and gets the object reference from the IOR files specified by the AlarmIrpIorFile and NotificationIrpIorFile properties.
Note: So that the probe can connect to the remote server, the alarm IRP file and notification IRP file must be locally available.
Probe for Motorola 3GPP OMCR GSR-8
There are two methods that the GSR-8 connects to the CORBA interface using IOR files or using the Naming Service.
