We’ve provided this guide to assist you in connecting your HDTV system. Please follow the directions carefully and get ready to experience HDTV—television you have to see to believe.
Before You Begin
Make sure you have these items:
• HDTV Cable Box
• DTV Remote
• Plastic Wrench
• Component Video Cables
• RCA Cables
• “HDTV Is Only Minutes Away” Card
• Manuals for Cable Box and Remote Control

Optional Equipment
• 1 GHz or 5-1000 MHz Signal Splitter (see pg. 7)
• DVI cable (customer provided) (SA3250 only)

DO NOT plug the HDTV cable box into a power outlet yet.
1. Start by connecting the cable from the wall to the CABLE IN connector on the back of the HDTV cable box. – Connect your HDTV set to your VCR (stereo, non-stereo). (See diagrams on following pages)
2. NOW plug the cable box AC cord into an AC outlet, but DO NOT turn on the HDTV cable box yet.
3. Wait for the clock on the display panel of the HDTV cable box to show the correct time.
4. NOW press the POWER button to turn on the HDTV cable box. Please wait 2–10 minutes while the cable signal loads. Tune to Channel 99 for remote control programming, and Channel 100–Answers On Demand or Channel 799–Spanish Answers On Demand to learn more about HDTV.
5. To view HDTV programming, select the component video input to your HDTV Set.
