DeskScapes Troubleshooting Guide

The purpose of this guide is to walk DeskScapes users through steps to diagnose why animated wallpaper will not apply. There are key pieces that DeskScapes requires must be working in order for animated wallpaper to apply.

Using ColorWizzard with Photoshop

This document is intended to provide information on using ColorWizzard monitor characterization within Photoshop.
Photoshop Version 5 and greater come with a utility called Adobe Gamma. To avoid conflicts, it is important to use only one calibrator and avoid double- correction. To disable Adobe Gamma, remove it from the startup group. The procedure is simple:
• Go to the Start\Programs\Startup menu
• Click the entry called Adobe Gamma Loader.exe
• Drag it onto the desktop and delete. (This does not delete the program, only the shortcut.)

Getting Started With Photoshop: Basic Tasks to create Web-Ready Images

For purposes of this tutorial, we will be working with a number of image files located in a folder called Photoshop Class Samples. This folder should already be on your desktop if you are part of the Photoshop class. Create another folder on the desktop with your name. We will want to preserve our original photos in the Photoshop Class Samples folder, and store our working copies in this new folder. We only want to work on the files in the working files folder, which will later be saved for the web. Never work from your master images. That way, you can always start over from the original image if necessary.

Color Settings
The Color Settings dialog box lets you set the default working spaces for RGB, CMYK and Grayscale. It allows you to set Color Management Policies, which dictate how Photoshop uses (or ignores) embedded profiles in images. It also allows you to set warnings for missing or mismatched profiles.
