How to Make Basic Image Adjustments using Photoshop CS2

Getting Around in Photoshop
Color Management Color management standards let you move image files between computers and applications, or from camera, to monitor, to printer, with relative color consistency.

The system works by embedding a “color profile” into to an image file that specifies what color space is in use. When the file is opened in Photoshop, if the working space for Photoshop is set for a different colorspace than specified in a file’s color profile, Photoshop may be set to give an alert, or to “preserve” the embedded profile to maintain the appearance of the colors in the image.

PhotoShop CS IC Essentials

File Size
Working with Photoshop means working with large files; manipulating those files increases their sizes considerably. Therefore managing file size is critical, as it affects the performance of the computer, the storage options, and most importantly for significant number of IC users, the space it occupies on the screen. File size can by cut by first reducing the file resolution to fit the output medium (print, email, web..); second by reducing the pixels dimension; third by changing the file format, which is the final step before the image is ready to be exported. For the image to fit within the screen, the pixel dimension should be less than the pixel dimension of the monitor ( 800×600 for a standard 15 inch monitor screen, 1152×864 for IC monitors).

Adobe Photoshop Adding Color Swatch

Nothing can add interest to a black and white project as much as a splash of color can. And nothing can make a picture so perfect like the exact right color. Fortunately, Photoshop will let you fine tune, adjust and replace colors in artwork at will – and when you see how easy it is to do you’ll never settle for “almost” again. In this weeks issue of MouseHints we’ll learn how to add a custom color to our Swatches palette, how to save a custom palette, and the abc’s of color replacement (it’s easier than you think.) We’ll also learn how to change your working mode to grayscale and how to hide or remove those accidental or on purpose Slice boxes. Remember, if you have questions that you’d like answered in MouseHints, send them to help@helpdeskcards.com. Next Month’s theme is Windows XP.

Introduction to Flash CS3

Before getting started, it’s important to know the difference between a Flash authoring file (.fla) and a Shockwave Flash file (.swf). When you start working in Flash, you’ll be working in a .fla document. However, in order to view your final work in the Flash Player, you’ll need to “publish” your file as a .swf. (To do this, see step VI of this document.) *If you don’t have Flash Player installed on your computer, get the free download here: http://www.adobe.com/. Select “Get Adobe Flash Player”.
