The Oracle Spatial Relational Reader/Writer module provides the Feature Manipulation Engine (FME) with the ability to read and write geometric and attribute data stored using Oracle Spatial. This module communicates directly with Oracle Spatial for maximum throughput. From year 1995 in Audi-VW (VAG) cars is used engine immobilizer. The VAG group immobilizer system consists of an immobilizer ECU which controls the recognition of keys and the Engine Management ECU system. Immobilizer is activated when the ignition key is removed and, together with the engine control unit, largely prevents unauthorized starting of the engine. The system uses a transmitter and receiver unit in the ignition key (transponder). Whenever an attempt is made to start the engine, it transmits a new code to the car’s electronics. The immobilizing is only cancelled and car motor electronic receives permission to start engine if the key sends a right authorization code.

MySQL® is a well known DataBase Management System (DBMS) that provides various types of tables for different database applications. Version 4.1.0 and above MySQL databases are spatially extended to incorporate the Open GIS Consortium Simple Features Specification for simple geometric features. The MySQL reader and writer plugin provides the Feature Manipulation Engine (FME) with the ability to read and write both attribute and geometric data stored in a MySQL database. There are two versions of the reader and writer, MySQL which includes the spatial extension and supports geometry features, and MySQL_DB which is an attribute only version which ignores geometry. Currently the table types that can be read are MyISAM, InnoDB and MEMORY.

The Sony PDX- 0 camcorder provided by the School of Journalism can record using either mini-DV or DVCAM tapes. Both utilize the “DV” digital video format which uses a 5: compression and is capable of being transferred over firewire cables and ports. Mini-DV is considered a “consumer” or at best “pro- sumer” format made by Sony while DVCAM is Sony’s professional version of the DV format.
