BeadyBugs’ Photoshop Tutorial – How to change your photo’s background colour

This tutorial will show you how to add a coloured and/or graduated background to your bead photo. You can use Steps 3 and 4 together, or individually depending on the effect you are after. There are many ways of tackling this in Photoshop, but this is my preferred method.

1. Selecting the background
For the purposes of this exercise, I am using the previously cleaned up bead photo from Tutorial 1. A clean and simple background and well defined objects makes this easier to do, but is not essential. In the tools palette select the magic wand and use the following suggested settings.

Each one of the 76 segments is associated with three actuators which collectively , can move the segment in three dimensions. Photoshop 7 Short Guide

The ToolBox contains different cursor tools that allow you to perform a variety of operations on your image. They can all be chosen by clicking on the button in the Box, but also by typing the letter that is given in brackets in the description below. Some of them, with a small arrowhead at the bottom right corner, have multiple choices, which you also will see from the list below. The lower part of the ToolBox contains control areas for colour selection, and different display options. Some tools in the toolbox have options that appear in the context-sensitive Options bar that will appear at the top of the window just below the Menu bar. Leaving the cursor on a button will show the name of the tool as well as the shortcut key in brackets. Renault-Riffard Wing on wheels

WELL, have you noticed the difference? From this issue Renotes has taken another step forward and will now carry colour on every page. With the increasing use of colour we do of course need more high quality colour pictures, which is where you, the members come in. Send us your contributions and remember Renotes is not just about older cars, contributions from members with new Renaults are just as valid. On our letters page the debate on speed continues. This debate, sparked by the oft-quoted remark that ‘speed kills’ is I think missing the point. Perhaps a more appropriate slogan would be ‘inexperience kills’ for it is a fact that for years driving instructors have been teaching people to pass a relatively simple driving test when really they should be teaching them to drive. There is a world of difference between the two.

2001 – 2002 GL1800/GL1800A Rear Tire Inspection Service Bulletin

This service campaign includes all 2001 GL1800 Gold Wing models and certain 2002 models. A small percentage of the original equipment rear tires installed on these models could have been damaged during the factory assembly process. As a result, the tire bead may not seal properly against the rim. This condition will allow slightly faster than normal air pressure loss. An under inflated tire may cause abnormal wear patterns and can overheat the tire causing the tread to crack. Normally, tires in good condition may lose one to two psi per month if not checked and adjusted regularly.
