A Tutorial on TEM Transmission Lines

The concept of TEM transmission lines has been a distinct element of electronics engineering for well over 70 years [1, 2]. The term TEM (Transverse ElectroMagnetic [3], also known as Transverse Electric and Magnetic [4]) refers to a condition in which both the electric and magnetic fields are parallel to a boundary plane [5] and there are no longitudial components of either field.

PLUG-INS FOR ARCHICAD

ArchiCAD Plug-in for Terrain Modelling
A common problem faced by ArchiCAD users is the creation and management of 3D terrain models. The ArchiTerra Plug-in was developed to resolve this problem. To create a realistic setting, designers often need to contextualise their projects within certain surroundings. This allows the environmental impact of the project to be monitored throughout the planning phase. The need for such functionality may also arise for city planning or landscaping purposes, requiring the creation of more or less vast 3D terrain models.

Model 1524A Operating Manual

The number one reason for transmission failure is fluid breakdown. Over time, the automatic transmission fluid (ATF) becomes contaminated and loses its viscosity and the ability to lubricate the moving parts within the transmission. Conventional service methods of dropping the pan and changing the filter result in only about 30-40% of the total ATF in the transmission being drained out. That leaves 60-70% of the old ATF to be mixed with the new ATF introduced during service. Therefore, adequate lubrication is not achieved.

ArchiCAD advice

Printing to a PDF file:
Set up your line weights first. I like to use hairlines for the on screen display and for most quick linework for printing (very thin lines). Line thicknesses are established in the pens and colours dialog box. You can select a pen colour, and adjust the thickness for printing or for on-screen display. There is another dialog box for determining whether or not you will see hairlines on screen or true line thicknesses. I just use hairlines on screen: easier for accuracy in making things and easier on my eyes.

Adobe Illustrator CS2 Tutorial

Illustrator is a vector-based imaging program. Unlike PhotoShop, which deals in pixels (raster images), this one deals in lines and algorithms for various shapes. It functions by generating curved paths connected by modifiable anchor points. These anchors, with their handles, are ultimately editable and never “leave” the structure of the file.
