This special edition car was created to celebrate 25 years of quattro in the USA because North America has about 85% quattro -equipped cars, while the rest of the world only has about 15% quattro equipped cars. It is based on the DTM exterior package available in Germany as of May 2005. 250 units only available in the USA: it has the “40/60″ quattro only available on S4 6-speed manual cars Dealer arrival end of October or early November 2005. This article focuses on an often-neglected but all-important aspect of any software application – the user interface. For years, desktop applications have had boring gray rectangular windows, buttons etc. Animation, multi-media, visual effects and custom elements were possible, but required large amount of custom programming. Even making a non-rectangular button would need good C++ skills. The web and its use of Flash change the equation. Web-based applications look far more attractive and user-friendly than comparable desktop application, but are easy to develop with Flash. This document is based upon an “ALFA Romeo Association Tech Session / Presented by Larry Dickman Jr., ALFA Parts Exchange” paper. Mike Nakamura used Larry’s guide to upgrade a 1971 Montreal and I used the information provided by Mike to upgrade my 1972 Montreal. I have added to the information provided by Mike to provide a little more clarification and detail.

Larry developed this upgrade to fit within common 14″ ALFA wheels and there are several routes one can follow to achieve the finished result. You can modify old 115 rotors creating iron hats and attach new rotors or you can have custom aluminum hats machined. The drawings provided are for custom hats. I have made every effort to insure that the information included is correct and I have successfully performed this modification to my own Montreal. Remove the bezel that surrounds the climate control and extends behind the transmission shifter. To do this, grasp the bezel behind the shifter and release the first clip. In the upper-right corner of the bezel, use the Dash Trim tool to work loose the remaining ten (10) clips that hold the bezel in place. Note: On vehicles without the navigation system and/or with the DVD, the climate controls will come off with the bezel. Note: On vehicles that have the navigation system, disconnect the emergency light switch connector, and interior lighting switch. Apply the emergency brake and turn the ignition to the on position. Place the transmission shifter into the neutral position. Pull the shifter lever toward you to allow clearance for the bezel to be removed. Place the bezel aside when removed.
