MySQL is a popular open source relational database system. We chose it for this project because it is a large, well-known software system, consisting of 1.3 million lines of code.

MySQL was developed in 1995, and is owned by a Swedish company, MYSQL AB. The original developers were trying to use another product, mSQL to interface with their ISAM low level storage engine. Frustrated by the lack of flexibility, they decided to create their own SQL system on top of their storage engine. This project became known as MySQL [1].
Today, the ability to support multiple storage engines is one of MySQL’s distinguishing features.

We figured out early on that playing match-maker to an ass and a horse produced a creature with the strength and stamina of a horse, but the nimble sure-footedness of an ass. (That would be a donkey for those of you not up on your cross-breeding techniques.) The same rules that apply in nature pertain to the automotive world as well: The more closely related the parent forms, the more likely they are to produce a viable hybrid. Dropping a B16A from a Japanese domestic market Civic Type R into a US-spec Civic will be a whole lot easier, cheaper and more successful than dropping an NSX engine into the same car—though this has not stopped people from trying.

BMW D7 Marine Engine

Previously, all Audi models have been assessed on CO2 output using the maximum vehicle weight dependent on engine and transmission configuration. Under the rationalisation, the information is now supplied as a single dataset using the minimum weight for a given vehicle, resulting in significant positive movement of the official CO2 bandings used for BIK tax calculation and Vehicle Excise Duty. The data is provided to the Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA) for use in environmental vehicle labelling and comparisons, and, crucially, also appears on the vehicle V5 registration document. This booklet compares the previous CO2 output for selected Audi models and compares the new values with key competitors for BIK tax and fuel consumption figures.
