BMW E46 M3 & 3 Series E36 3 Series Front Installation Instructions

Most 17” wheels will clear the outer diameter of the caliper for a 328mm or 332mm rotor kit. For a 355mm kit, a minimum 18” wheel is typically required, and for a 380mm rotor kit, a minimum 19” wheel is needed. The more critical clearance, however, is the gap between the spokes of the wheel and the face of the caliper. Do not assume that a larger-diameter wheel will automatically clear the face of the caliper.

Creating Figures: A Basic Recipe for Image Composites Using Photoshop and PowerPoint

Photoshop vs. PowerPoint: Which one should I use?
Photoshop and PowerPoint are both very flexible applications-each is capable of performing raster image manipulation as well as text and vector editing with varying degrees of success, reliability and ease. While Photoshop is the choice for making adjustments to your raster image’s file format, resolution, size, contrast, color balance, alignment and to crop or merge images together (image editing), PowerPoint is preferred for creating figures and doing image compositing and annotation because the text and vector based annotation will remain sharp. This is not the case for these vector-based elements in Photoshop- there is a loss in quality of text and vector objects when changing file formats to non-proprietary, pixel-based formats.

Transparency in Photoshop

Unlike vector images, bitmap images require that every pixel have some value associated with it. For images that don’t conform to the rectangular borders that the various file formats require, transparency solves (and also creates) some problems. By filling in the spaces between the objects’ borders and the frame’s borders with invisible (“transparent”) pixels, we create the illusion of a non-rectangular image. The issue that this document addresses is how to create such an effect.

Adobe Photoshop for Scientists Part 2

In part one, I discussed acquiring, editing and sizing images. Now it’s time to put together a figure for publication or display. Photoshop has good tools for doing this simple type of layout, where you basically have photographic images, some arrows and scale bars, and minimal text. Photoshop is not the best choice if your figure contains paragraphs of text, and especially if you’re printing a poster. The reason is that text is not handled separately, but is rendered as part of the bitmapped image. This means that the resolution of your document must be high, say 300 ppi on a letter size page. At lower resolutions, the photos might still look okay, but the text will appear jagged. In the case of a poster, the file size would be much too large to be practical for printing if the resolution were sufficiently high for good text quality. A page layout / drawing program such as Canvas is a better choice where you have a lot of text and a large document size. For now, however, let’s assume that you are making a figure for publication that takes up one page.

In this paper, we consider the aesthetic criteria and con- straints related to the layouts of UML sequence diagrams. We consider the applicability of the traditional graph drawing aesthetics in drawing sequence diagrams. Because of the special nature of sequence diagrams, many of these aesthetics are not applicable. Based on our view
