2000+ BMW X5 Front Installation Instructions

Most 18” wheels will clear the outer diameter of the caliper on a 355mm kit. However, the more critical clearance is the gap between the spokes of the wheel and the face of the caliper. Do not assume that a 19”, 20” or even 24” wheel will clear the face of the caliper. The actual metal-to-metal distance measured from the stock rotor face to the inside of the wheel spokes is 62.25mm for the BMW X5 front kit. StopTech recommends at least 2mm of additional clearance. See the Wheel Fitment Drawing page on the StopTech website for more specific measurements, at www.stoptech.com. Note: Final fitment of the wheel to the caliper is the responsibility of the customer.

1992-95 VW Corrado VR Front Big Brake Upgrade Installation Instructions

Most 17” wheels will clear the outer diameter of the caliper. Wheel weights mounted on the inside of the wheel may need to be repositioned. The more critical clearance is the spokes of the wheel to the outer face of the caliper. Do not assume an 18, 19 or even 20 inch wheel will clear the outer face of the caliper. A minimum distance of 60.81mm, measured from the outer rotor face to the inside face of the wheel spokes. This is the net metal-to-metal measurement. We recommend at least 2mm additional clearance to clear the ST-40 caliper on our big brake kits. Please refer to the Wheel Fitment section of our website to confirm any wheel fitment issues.

This will also space out the entire wheel, widening the track width of the vehicle. Fender clearances should be checked on lowered cars, and longer lug studs or wheel bolts are usually required. Assessing current vehicle performance and simulating the performance of hydrogen and hybrid cars

The on-the-road performance of passenger cars are often discussed in terms of kilometres driven per MJ (or other unit of energy). This does not do justice to the different payloads that different cars are certified to carry, perhaps considering the poor correlation between required, actually used and available passenger and cargo space characterising the vehicle choice of many passenger car owners. Campaigns have occasionally been directed at increasing customer usage of the available payload (better trip planning, pool arrangements), but automobile sales material often mentions only km/MJ overall performance, if anything at all related to energy efficiency (mentioning energy performance is mandatory in some European countries, but mostly not done in North America).

Most 17” wheels will clear the outer diameter of the caliper for a 328mm or 332mm rotor kit. For a 355mm kit, a minimum 18” wheel is typically required, and for a 380mm rotor kit, a minimum 19” wheel is needed. The more critical clearance, however, is the gap between the spokes of the wheel and the face of the caliper.
