X-bit’s Guide: Contemporary LCD Monitor Parameters and Characteristics

This guide is offering you a detailed description of various LCD monitor parameters, which are essential for comparative analysis, as well as the measuring techniques used for each of them. Besides, since the majority of LCD monitor parameters are determined by the type of the matrix the monitor is based on, we will also introduce to you the major four types of contemporary matrices. They are: TN+Film, S-IPS, MVA and PVA.

Virtex-5 FPGA System Monitor User Guide

Every member of the Virtex®-5 FPGA family contains a single System Monitor, which is located in the center of every die. The System Monitor function is built around a 10-bit, 200-kSPS (kilosamples per second) Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC). When combined with a number of on-chip sensors, the ADC is used to measure FPGA physical operating parameters like on-chip power supply voltages and die temperatures. Access to external voltages is provided through a dedicated analog-input pair (VP/VN) and 16 user-selectable analog inputs, known as auxiliary analog inputs (V AUXP [15:0], V AUXN [15:0]). The external analog inputs allow the ADC to monitor the physical environment of the board or enclosure. System Monitor is fully functional on power up, and measurement data can be accessed via the JTAG port pre-configuration.

Cytology of the Normal Endometrium – Cycling and Postmenopausal

Cytology of the Normal Endometrium – Cycling and PostmenopausalCytology of the Normal Endometrium – Cycling and Postmenopausal 32 6.1. Histology of the Endometrium The uterine corpus is composed of a modified mucosa known as the endometrium, a fibromuscular wall called the myometrium, and a serosal lining. The uterine mucosa can be divided into two regions: the mucosa of the lower uterine segment (LUS) (isthmus) and the mucosa of the corpus proper (fig. 6.1). The mucosa of the LUS, located between the endocervix and endometrium, is thinner

Fixing White Balance and Color Errors in Photoshop

After shooting with your digital camera (of after scanning a piece of film), you will want to use Photoshop to fine-tune the colors and mood of the photos you took. Often, especially when shooting in raw format, your pictures will look a bit dull and washed out compared to the way they looked on the camera’s small LCD. This is entirely normal, for the camera is applying some fixes of its own to make to picture look “punchy” on the LCD, but the raw data awaits your manipulation to show its true “colors.” Photoshop offers you all the tools you need to accomplish your vision, but it requires a good deal of setting up before you can start adjusting, correcting and tweaking. Let’s start with that.
