The method for creating pseudocolor in Photoshop can be done in few steps, but the image will not be colored in the conventional way. The conventional means for producing pseudocolor comes by using a look up table (LUT). This LUT is an overlay for making a range of colors according to choices provided by the software. The colors are matched to levels of brightness and darkness in the image (grayscale pixel values), typically from a short to long wavelengths. In that scenario, violet colors are matched to the black and near-black pixels and red to those close to absolute white. Blue, yellow, green and orange become the mid-range pixel values.

• The computer labs at 53 Church St, the Grossman Library, and the Science Center all have Photoshop installed on their PCs and Macintosh computers.

Here are the very basics of importing an image created or edited in Photoshop into Final Cut Pro. USE RGB COLOR SCALE!! When placing an image on a web page your image should be only as large as it needs to be to display correctly on the page. If your image is too large (800 x 600) and you resize it within the Dreamweaver application by dragging its corners, the file size is not reduced, just the visual size of the image. If you reduce the image size in Photoshop to display the correct size on the web page, you can save file space/size and allow the viewer to view the image much quicker. (For example: An image sized at 800 x 600 could be a 2MB file. If that file is reduced to the size needed on the page, e.g., 360 x 413, the file size can be brought down to 436k. This file is easier for someone to view on a web page through their network connection and saves space on the server.

If possible, it is best to start out with an original uncompressed image file that has been prepped and is at minimum no less than 27 inches or 1920 pixels after cropping, adjusting contrast, adjusting color, sharpen, etc. You will be adjusting these files to meet the CaFÉ™ image specification size by following the steps below.
