The linocut effect can be used on various subjects, but especially comes in handy when the original source is of low quality. If you want color from the original subject image to appear in the linocut effect image, make a layer copy of the subject image and apply the linocut effects to the layer copy. Steps 7 through 9 will explain how to apply the color layer and the hue saturation as shown above.

If the client wants to make a Duotone, have them look at the Duotone steps in the manual.
To make a spot color ad that is not a Duotone, follow these steps:
1. Open a new file in CMYK with Transparent Background Contents.
2. Go to -Window menu and select Channels. Note: It used to be you would work on layers, but for the spot color ad you will work on channels.
3. With the Channel tab active in the palette, click on the little black arrow on the right and select New Spot Channel.

The Mars rovers Spirit and Opportunity are equipped with left and right lenses in the Front and Rear Hazard Avoidance cameras, the Navigation camera and the Panorama camera. Pairs of pictures taken from slightly different positions can be combined to produce 3D pictures known as anaglyphs, just like our human stereographic vision. In order to make a puzzle where you can drag the pieces into place, you will first need to select a picture and slide it into pieces. You can use an image editor like Adobe photoshop, create some guides on top, then use the marquee tool to select each square copy it and paste it into a new file. Then save the graphics – I recommend you name them something like puz1.jpg, puz2.jpg etc. You may want to start with a really simple puzzle that contains only 4 or 9 pieces. The one below uses 12. Make sure you first set the image resolution of the large image using image size command to 72 dpi first before you begin copying pieces. Note this tutorial assumes you are already familiar with basic menus in Flash.

Create background by setting size of final sheet to be printed (e.g., 10.4 inches X 8.25 inches for landscape orientation)
Set resolution to printer resolution (e.g., 300 dpi)
Set mode to RGB

1. Open Adobe Photoshop.
2. Open the flattened version of your poster.
3. Resize the Image to Ad size.
Select the Image menu > Image size > change the width to 4.25 inches > Resolution 200 pixels > OK Note: When you change the image width to 4.25 inches the ad length should automatically change to the appropriate size so the image stays proportioned.

This page demonstrates how to use Adobe Photoshop to create a transparent area in a GIF image. The most common reason for doing this is to create a transparent background.
Example
This image has no transparency – the background is white. As long as the image is on a white background there’s no problem – it looks transparent anyway.
If the image is placed on a coloured background, the lack of transparency becomes obvious.
If the white background is made transparent the image will blend nicely into (almost) any coloured background.
