Installation Procedure:
1. Unscrew the stock shift knob by rotating it counter clockwise.
2. Use a Philips head screwdriver to remove the 2 screws on either side of the console just behind the shift boot. Sliding the seats fully rearward allows easy access to these screws.
3. Slide the front seats fully forward and use a Philips head screwdriver to remove the 2 screws on either side of the back of the center console.
4. Lift the rear portion of the center console out of the car and put in a safe place for re-installation.

• Place the bike on the center stand and remove the current shock absorber.
• Place the Hyperpro shock in the bike, type 461 with reservoir as shown in the picture. If your shock is equipped with the optional hydraulic preload adjuster place the banjo bolt of the HPA to the right side of the bike.

It is based on the DTM exterior package available in Germany as of May 2005. 250 units only available in the USA: it has the “40/60″ quattro only available on S4 6-speed manual cars Dealer arrival end of October or early November 2005. Vehicle hand-made interior is unique to this special edition car for the USA, not even available in Germany. It features the carbon fiber trim coming on the RS4 arriving at dealers in Spring 2006.

The RX-2 and RX-3 are available in the United Stales with a 4-speed manual transmission or a 3-speed automatic. This chapter contains removal and repair procedures for the manual transmission, as well as testing and adjustment procedures for the automatic. Specifications are given in Table 1 (end of chapter).

The manual transmission consists of clutch housing, transmission case, and rear extension. Figure 1 (next page) shows the case and rear extension. Figure 2 (page 155) shows the shifting mechanism.

Locate the vacuum – There is a rubber bung over a spigot on the inlet side of the front carburetor, as shown below left. Remove this bung and then press the Damper Elbow, part number 4, onto the spigot. The RMV can be positioned under the seat, as shown in the third picture. 1) Disconnect negative battery cable and ground strap at transaxle. Disconnect positive battery cable. Remove battery and battery base. Remove drain plug, and drain transaxle fluid (remove fill plug to speed draining). Install drain plug with NEW washer, and tighten plug to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS TABLE at the end of this article.
2) Disconnect wiring for starter motor, transaxle lock-up control solenoid and shift control solenoid. Remove starter. Disconnect mainshaft and countershaft speed sensor connectors. Remove complete air cleaner case assembly. Disconnect and remove throttle control cable at transaxle bracket.
