Photoshop Tip: Create a Racing Flag

I’m back from this year’s PhotoshopWorld Conference & Expo and ready to show off some new image-editing tricks. On tonight’s episode of “The Screen Savers” I’ve got a nice project for all you NASCAR dads (and moms) out there. I’ll show you how to create a checkered racing flag using Photoshop. The Web is no longer static; it’s dynamic. As the information content of the Web grows, so does the need to make Web sites more dynamic. Think of an e-shop that has 1,000 products. How to create a texture coordinates template in 3ds Max 9

In this tutorial, you will perform the following steps to complete your template.
1. Apply the Unwrap UVW modifier
2. Create a template to work in Photoshop
3. Apply a Material (a checker texture in this case)
4. Apply a texture from Photoshop
For purposes of this tutorial, you will work on one of the seats on the scene, but you’ll need to do these steps for all items in the scene. You will later substitute the checker texture for the material that you will use on your objects. So, let’s get started.

Getting Started With Photoshop: Basic Tasks to create Web-Ready Images

For purposes of this tutorial, we will be working with a number of image files located in a folder called Photoshop Class Samples. This folder should already be on your desktop if you are part of the Photoshop class. Create another folder on the desktop with your name. We will want to preserve our original photos in the Photoshop Class Samples folder, and store our working copies in this new folder. We only want to work on the files in the working files folder, which will later be saved for the web. Never work from your master images. That way, you can always start over from the original image if necessary.
