ROM Monitor Start-up Guide

The ROM monitor is a small program that allows Micropak to debug other, user programs, in the starter kit boards. These boards are supplied with the TOPAS starter kits. In order to perform debugging you must first program the microcontroller on the board with your program and the accompanying ROM monitor. You can do this by selecting the Program command from the Project menu. This should display the Program dialog box. Before pressing OK to start programming make sure that the Include ROM Monitor option is selected. If this option is disabled, then you have probably not selected a ROM Monitor microcontroller. To do this go to the Project Settings dialog box and select a Processor which contains the words “ROM Monitor”.

How to Add a Touch of Color to a Grey Scale Photograph with Adobe PhotoShop Elements

Sometimes, you can add uniqueness and interest to an ordinary looking (but well-composed) color photograph just by draining all the color from it except for one or two well-placed elements of the photo. In digital photography, you can do it very easily it in just a few minutes. I did this with Adobe PhotoShop Elements 2. I’m sure it can be done with equal ease using other photo editing software such as Paint Shop Pro, Adobe PhotoShop CS, etc. The nomenclature may be a little different, but the basic steps will be similar.

Artlantis 2.0 for ArchiCAD Users

Modelize a project into ArchiCAD export it and edit it with Artlantis. Return to ArchiCAD modify the geometry of the project, export a new Artlantis file and recover automatically the previous work done into Artlantis.

Step 1 : Modeling into ArchiCAD
Step 2 : Export the model to Artlantis
NB: The export can only be done in 3D View with the activcation of the Perspective option. The camera and heliodon settings will be retrieved into Artlantis. Display the 3D View Menu View > 3D View Mode > Perspective Then File menu > Save as… Format: Choose Artlantis Render Studio 2.0 Name the file (e.g. A.atl) then Save it. The saving is done in Artlantis file format, if they were dependent textures they will be saved into a folder created beside the .atl file.

Open Dynamic Programming with LUA Tutorial

Setup, Discovering the development environment
The devkits have been fitted with an OpenAT application running:
• Wavecom’s porting of Lua interpreter and virtual machine
• WIP, Wavecom’s TCP/IP stack, set up with a PPP server over UART2. By default, the devkit takes address 192.168.1.4, and gives address 192.168.1.5 to the PC. PPP user is wipuser, its password is 123456.
• A telnet server, serving a Lua interactive shell. You can find the binary, the sample’s sources and the library on the USB key. This first session’s goal will be to set up your PC, so that you can start developing and running Lua programs on WMP100.

Adobe Photoshop CS2 Color Settings Quick Tips

Color Settings
The Color Settings dialog box lets you set the default working spaces for RGB, CMYK and Grayscale. It allows you to set Color Management Policies, which dictate how Photoshop uses (or ignores) embedded profiles in images. It also allows you to set warnings for missing or mismatched profiles.

Using ICC Profiles in Adobe Photoshop

A profile is a three-dimensional color map, which can be used to translate color from one device to another. ICC compliant hardware and software such as Adobe Photoshop must be used for a profile to work properly.

File Installation
ICC profiles are designated by the .icc or .icm file extension. In order for a device to have access to the information contained in these files, they must be saved in the correct directory on your computer’s hard drive. For more information on how to download and save files from the internet, see the FAQ section of this document. The most common directory locations and operating systems are outline in the following table:

Setting up a Shared MySQL Database for Compendium

THE MYSQL SERVER MACHINE
If you are setting up a MySQL database server for multiple Compendium users you firstly need to install MySQL on a machine that has network access, (see Compendium ReadMe or MySQL instructions on installing the software). The computer that you select must have a fixed IP address or a host name that can then be referenced by the remote Compendium users. MySQL uses port 3306 by default, so this port must be open. If you have any firewall software in place please check that this port is accessible.

GPSinterface Stand Alone Interface for Waypoint Management User Manual and Technical Documentation

GPSinterface is a stand alone utility for the downloading, uploading, managing and exporting of waypoints with Garmin or Magellan GPS receivers. The program is able to connect via serial cable to either of these manufacturers units, provided your computer has a serial communications port. If your machine lacks a serial port, usb to serial adapters are available that will provide a work around. Two commonly used examples are covered on the last page.
