The Civic range was last updated in October 2000, and the model line-up was streamlined to include two body styles, sedan and hatch, with two specification levels, GLi and Vi. The Civic Hybrid is available in sedan only, and is similar in specification to the GLi sedan. The recommended retail price is $29,990. The conventionally powered 1.7 litre Honda Civic GLi Automatic retails for $26,950.

HONDA CLAIMER RULE – For GX160 QMA Type Engines
1. Claims will be from within the same division of class only (Junior, Senior, Light GX160, Heavy GX160).
2. Engine may be claimed for $450.00 cash or certified funds or a complete new (still in box) same type Honda engine. This is the option of the person being claimed.
3. Only competitors participating in the same division may make a claim on an engine.
4. This claim must be submitted to the Race Director before the end of the race the claimed engine is in.
5. The Race Director will hold the claim (money or engine) until the claimed engine has been inspected for legality.

Honda’s S2000 is famous for its high revving engine, but also infamous for its low- view factory radio placement. Not only is Honda’s factory radio placed very low in the dash, but it is also only single-DIN. While single-DINs were the norm in Japanese cars years ago, today most Japanese cars are double-DIN. Ernest Ornate and Junior Ngim of Sound Innovations in Hayward, Calif., show a great way to put a double-DIN video unit higher up in the dash of a Honda S2000. Ernest notes to make sure to inform the customer that he will lose airflow to the passenger air vent due to the removal of all ductwork leading from the blower motor to the vent.
