This manual describes the Distributed Network Protocol (DNP) V3.00 as implemented in the DNP master driver for MOSCAD. The driver conforms to the Level 3 specifications provided in DNP V3.00 Subset Definitions by Harris Canada, Inc. (document number P009-0IG.SUB). This manual covers the DNP implementation for both MOSCAD V3.70 or later and MOSCAD-L V1.00 or later. It explains how the DNP protocol functions in relation to reading from and writing to the RTU database. The manual is, therefore, intended for MOSCAD application programmers.

The BMW CCA New York Chapter, Inc. Driver School curriculum in conjunction with Skid Pad training (when a Skid Pad is available) have as goals to educate drivers about vehicle dynamics and develop transferable skills to both routine and emergency conditions on public roads. These goals will be accomplished through a combination of classroom lectures, track walks, and practicum at speed on the track and on the skid pad. 1. Remove contents and check for damage. Verify all parts are present. Read instructions completely before installation.
2. Locate driver side mounting locations on vehicle (See Figure 1and 2). Repeat for passenger side.
3. Attach driver side front and rear mounting brackets to underside of rocker panel as shown using M8 hex bolts, 5/16” flat washer and 5/16” lock washer. Hand tighten only (See Figure 1 and 2). Repeat for passenger side.

Caution before working
1. Before installation, be sure to key off and wait more than 5 minutes for complete discharge of electricity
2. Don’t turn on the ignition during connectors are disconnected, because if you turn on the ignition with disconnected connectors, ECU falsely recognize status of car as an error and display error code on monitor
3. Be sure to use the tools of proper size and usage.
4. Don’t try to dissemble and assemble by force
5. Use proper tape or soft fabric to protect car from scratch or damage
6. Be sure to use power line from cigar lighter. In the case that you cannot use power line from cigar lighter, be sure to use a relay to protect interface from electric shock

Although the PnP kits and ECU’s are identical, the New Beetle’s EC’s location is different than the Jetta/Golf; therefore these instructions are split – the first section describes Golf/Jetta installation and the second section describes Beetle installation.
(2) The ECU connectors lock and unlock by pulling the “T-handle” located at the connector’s edge. Look at the locking handles on the PnP harness and familiarize yourself with the mechanism before trying to remove the OEM plugs.
(3) When trying to remove the OEM Plugs from the ECU, getting your fingers into the T-handles can be difficult. You can gently pry the T-handles back using a screw driver.
(4) The Golf/Jetta OEM ECU bracket will not reinstall with the Unichip PnP harness in place without modification. You can easily modify your bracket as outlined below or can by a modified bracket from UNA (UNA Part # 9950001).
