BMW Navigation Buyer’s Guide

1. Buy Smart—It is easy to make mistakes
Two common threads on our forum are either from someone asking if a navigation computer they have found on eBay or elsewhere is right for their vehicle upgrade or from someone who is seeking validation of a navigation computer they have already purchased. Many people have posted their success stories of various navigation upgrades and retrofits, so the process is very well understood for the E38/E39/E53 families of BMW. Variations in original equipment and the many types of BMW factory installed and accessory navigation systems makes it complicated but not impossible to identify and purchase the right pieces. There are a significant number of misidentified or misunderstood navigation computers for sale out there that can leave buyers stranded and or screwed. Electric Tutorial

This tutorial will run through the design and simulation of a ‘plain vanilla’ positive edge triggered D flip-flop. Electric allows the design to be done and linked together through what are called facets. These facets are each different hierarchical levels of the design (i.e. Layout, schematic, VHDL, and so on). The purpose of this tutorial is to cover those topics that are not covered sufficiently in the provided User’s Manual. It is assumed that the student knows how to create a library and facets of that library.

Photography Blend Style—Large Horizontal Image

Photography on top level pages of the site incorporates one of two blend styles at the bottom of the image area. The blend styles create a softer appearance and convey a visually more open, less blocky impression to reflect the open-minded, inclusive and welcoming Hamline spirit.

Use of either blend style on other photos throughout the site is optional. The style should be used freely to convey openness and warmth, but with judgment about whether it is appropriate to the nature of an image or the overall effect of a page layout. In the example images on this page, the screen bar style may be considered a better choice than the gradation fade style because the book in the photo is more visible.
