Performance Car is designed to cater for mass production road registrable vehicles, as listed by the Department of Transport and Regional Services (DOTARS) on the Road Vehicle Certification System (RVCS), with a recommended retail price under $150,000 (excluding GST).
As a part of the category’s shift away from technical parity, five separate classes have been developed to accommodate the different performance attributes of the various cars in the championship, from high horse power rear-wheel-drive sedans to sporty front-wheel-drive hatch backs.
