SQL Server Integration Services

SQL Server Integration Services is an all-new subsystem for SQL Server 2005. With SQL Server 2005 Microsoft has replaced the old Data Transformation Services (DTS) with the all-new SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). It’s important to understand that SSIS isn’t a reworked version of DTS. Instead, Microsoft rewrote SSIS from the ground up. Microsoft’s goal for SQL Server 2005’s Integration Services was to make it an enterprise ETL platform for Windows on a par with any of the stand-alone enterprise-level ETL products. The new SSIS is completely redesigned and built using managed .NET code, giving it a more robust foundation.

Introduction to web services simulation with SOAPSimulator: A hands-on tutorial

Typically, companies embark on SOA projects for system-to-system integration within their corporate domains as well as with external trading partners. Re-usable services are the cornerstone of a successful SOA implementation. In a SOA Project, once a producer service is built, developers can subsequently start implementing consumer services and tester can begin building test scenarios. If the producer service is under development and is not available for request-response interaction, development and QA teams are severely hampered in their ability to develop consumer code. Service simulation – the ability to mimic producer services even before they are implemented – enables consumer developers and testers to parallelize their efforts without having to wait for service implementation to complete. Service simulation also enables corporations to provide a portable alternative to building an expensive reference environment.

Oracle Applications Integration Cookbook: A Developer’s Guide

Oracle E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft and JD Edwards have recognized the importance of integration and have opened up several key integration points into our applications at a business process level, the event level and the API level. IT organizations utilize these efficient and flexible platform-neutral integration points to seamlessly participate in business process orchestration environments, such as Oracle BPEL Process Manager. Business process orchestration takes application integration to the next level by using an application independent rules engine to manage business processes that span multiple applications.

Java SAP R/3 Integration

Java SAP R/3 IntegrationP E R S I S T E N T W H I T E P A P Java SAP R/3 Integration November 2004 Abstract Enterprises of all descriptions have long sought to integrate and manage all their information assets within a single system. The goal remains elusive because enterprises create and store their assets in a myriad of disparate systems – relational databases, mainframes, different operating systems, hierarchical repositories, and so on. Using new and existing assets in an efficient, integrated, and interchangeable manner has become the key to surviving, and thriving in the new economy. SAP remains the world leader in enterprise-software domain, with over 11000 installations worldwide. With over 60% of market share in ERP segment, it becomes an obvious choice for the EAI and EII product vendors to target SAP R/3 Enterprise as a data source, and therein emerges the need for integration. With the emergence

SQL Server 2008 on Windows Server 2008 guide

Windows Server 2008 Enterprise x64 also introduces many new features. As with SQL Server 2008 x64, there are far too many to include in this Guide. The following list mentions a few of the more significant features that may benefit database administrators:
• Server core. Windows Server 2008 Enterprise edition allows administrators to install only the functions necessary for a server’s role. For example, the server core installation does not include a GUI or the Explorer shell. The reduced number of components should improve efficiency, reduce maintenance costs, and improve security by reducing the vectors available to viruses.
• Windows PowerShell. This new command-line shell includes over 130 utilities and an admin-focused scripting language to make system administration easier.
