Recommended Settings for Focus For most situations, AUTO FOCUS is best. Manual focus is only good for sit down interviews, and you must focus the camera using the focus ring just behind the lens.

Section I : Installing the PhatBox
When choosing a mounting location remember: Leave at least 3 inches of clearance for the cable. The PhatBox should be mounted parallel or perpendicular to the floor of the car. Don’t mount near wiring or fuel lines. Leave the front of the PhatBox unobstructed for easy insertion of and removal of the cartridge. The unit should be mounted to a hard stable surface, such as particle board or sheet metal.

Navigating Through Your Files
Files are usually save in the My Documents folder. To look for a file you can follow the steps below:
Step 1: Click on Start (lower left corner)
Step 2: Find the My Documents Folder (upper right on menu). The start menu is also the menu to access all the programs installed on your machine.
Step 3: A new window will open showing the contents of My Documents, you can scroll up and down to find the file or folder you are looking for.

Often times images are posted on the web and resized with HTML code. This leads to an image full of jagged edges. By resizing your image in an image editing program, such as Adobe Photoshop, you can utilize smoothing algorithms that will make an image look much smoother. Additionally, resizing the image will reduce the file size, allowing a web page to load faster than usual. This document will be written in the sense that you’re working on a CAE workstation.

Open application
The first step, of course, is to open the application. In the IT lab, you can find Photoshop in the folder marked Adobe in the programs menu (from the start menu). It may also be located in a start menu folder called Graphics.

Once you have opened the application (after a few moments of loading time), the Photoshop interface will appear. There are many complex elements of the interface, and for reasons of both saving space in this tutorial and keeping things basic, I’ll only show you the toolbars and options panes you need to perform the most basic tasks in Photoshop. If you ever notice that some of these elements are missing, simply go to the window menu and select them.
