Video Image Processing Version 9.5 Port Monitor Guide
The Video Image Processing (VIP) system consists of two applications: VIP Capture and VIP Retrieval. The VIP Capture site obtains and stores pictures. The VIP Retrieval application is used to retrieve and view pictures that have been taken at VIP Capture sites or to view live video. VIP can also be used for enhancing, storing and printing pictures from a VCR playback. With VIP, the image is saved digitally, and the network transaction information – transaction number, institution number and address, the camera that took the picture, and the network date and time, when available – is saved with the picture.
Once the cameras and other necessary equipment are set up at the capture site, the VIP Capture application is used to adjust the camera settings (colour, contrast, etc.) in order to obtain the clearest picture possible. VIP Capture lets you give the specifications for an unlimited number of cameras and each camera can have different settings. Each camera at the capture site must belong to a zone, e.g. if an ATM has two cameras, where the two cameras belong to the same zone, you can then retrieve all pictures for the ATM by zone, rather than having to retrieve pictures from one camera at a time.
In the VIP Capture application, a camera is set to take transaction pictures by editing the configuration of the camera’s zone, i.e. enable the zone to take transaction pictures. You specify the transaction source, and the number of days that transaction pictures are saved before they are deleted.
